We are fully aware that for years agencies have been selling their services to employers based on their unique database of contacts and their thorough interviewing process but we thought we would just highlight a few points here to make you sit and ponder on your budget!

• In a candidate short market unique databases of candidates are valuable. Due to the economic climate we are not in a candidate short market - rather the opposite!
• 95% of all our employers surveyed read the CV first and THEN turn to the recruiters summary on the candidate.
• When you list a job with numerous agent they all flock to the same job boards to advertise the same job. They then pray the candidate with the skills picks them first. You can liken the process to big game fishing.
• Agents all use the same job boards because they buy in bulk and get discounts. Don't believe us? Go and check how many times your latest job is advertised. Then check again at the end of the month and you will see it replicated as agencies are using up their spare ads to make it look like they have more roles on.
